This Friday sees the return to Competition for club members, with the first of this season’s Print and the new Projected Image Competitions. Our judge this week will be John Holmes ARPS.

Don’t forget that with the Projected Image competition you can enter both Slides and Digital Images, provided that the Digital Image was shot as a jpeg and that it can only be cropped, rotated and spotted for dust.

With Sandra getting both aggregate Trophies last Season, it is hoped, we can provide more of a challenge to her wonderful work this season.

This Friday we have the pleasure of welcoming not one, but two Fellows of the Royal Photographic Society, too the club, when we are joined by Tony & Betty Rackham FRPS’s.

With a fellowship being the highest accolade awarded to members, and even just a quick browse of the wonderful images on their website at www.bettony.co.uk, you know that we should be in for something a bit special.

We return to Southsea Community Centre this week, and into a great new programme.

Starting off with a chance to show some of the great pictures you’ve shot over the summer months, on holiday, out and about on a Friday evening with us or just for fun.
Bring it along and show us what you’ve been up to.

Have you come across something that you think other members would find interesting or helpful, a new technique for shooting or in photoshop, a great new piece of software? Bring it along too.

Our treasurer has asked me to remind members that subs are due too, and that if possible he would like cash.

Well, we’ve come to the end of our summer out and about, so a big thank you to everyone who has given up their Friday evening and given us the pleasure of your company.

I hope you’ve all enjoyed them as much as I have.

Being the last week before we return to the club evenings, I think we’ll do something a little closer to home and have some fun at the fair and along the sea front, before ending up in a pub for a drink.

We will meet as usual at the Clarence Pier Car Park at 7:45pm, with a view to departing at about 8pm.

Due to a last minute change of destination by those who attended on the 15th, this Friday Evening we plan to actualy visit Hilsea Lido, lines and the surrounding waterside walks and lakes.

And for those wishing to stay on for the darkness, it’s still a great place for some lightpainting :-)
