The social side was brilliant and the models, Mark Bagley's Re-enactors were good fun and very willing to act out directions. They looked brilliant in their authentic Wild West costumes.

Film was very much in evidence and digital shooters mixed with Anna Log quite happily. There was even a shooter on his phone. How great is that!

I shot film, black and white mainly and also a few Polaroids.
When I got back home I played with some lifts and that came out better than expected. Especially as the film was outdated stock from 2005 and been cooked along the way in the back of the car.

Talk of cross processing and Lightroom banded around the set and the eclectic mix of traditional and modern seemed to gel in a way it should do.

Great to see how well so many disciplines can be entertained and jog along side by side without the film v digital debate. Long may it continue.

You can read other members comments and thoughts on flickr here.

John and Friends - Friday 24th October

” The Hurlers “
John South’s Winning Digital Image
This week we have, recent Digital Image Competition Winner, John South leading us through a number of things including, turning a good picture into something really special through the magic of HDR.

John has produced a huge number of successful Prints, Slides and Digital Images over his time at the club and is the present holder of the Digital Image of the Year.

This will be an evening not to missed, so come along and support a fellow club member.
